Congratulations! You are one of the few savvy business owners that knows how important legal training is for business managers. Not many small and medium business owners pay enough attention to business law which is in fact a little funny because no business can operate out of the law or against the law.

Business law is your first step to creating a sustainable company that is built on solid ground.

And so, you are right to think that your business managers need some kind of legal training because you still can’t afford an in-house lawyer. In the same time, as your business grows legal fees and hours billed by your lawyer are piling up.

It’s not practical anymore, right?

Legal training for your business managers – taking better decisions for the business faster

You know that with the right legal training your business managers will be able to take better decisions for the business faster but you have no idea how to train them.

According to businesses we have worked with so far there are two main challenges to finding the right legal training for your business managers:

  • You don’t know how to define The right legal training for business will be specific, business oriented training. It won’t be general legal course but a training session specifically designed for business managers. It will also be interactive and practical – your managers are not lawyers and they don’t need dry theory. Rather, they need practical examples and a “live” demonstration of the issues of the law. It will also be short and to the point because “time is money” and in business you need to focus on the best results in the shortest time. It won’t break the budget – training over a couple of hundred dollars indicates that the material is way out of your league – it might be too in-depth or better suited for higher executive positions or legal professionals. Know the level of business law you need to cover and pay only for what you will use. Last but not least, the right training will be delivered by the right person – a lawyer with extensive experience in training businesses. • You are afraid your business managers won’t be interested because legal is complex. This is when paralysis steps in. You know you need a good legal trainer and program but you are afraid legal is just not something people will want to learn about and apply. Finding legal training for business that your managers won’t hate seems like a huge challenge.

But, hey, you don’t need to go to university and legal institutions for training. You don’t need that academic education.

You need practical training, right?

And here are 4 places you can find the right legal training for your business managers:

  1. Your local government. Go to the local business and entrepreneurship office and ask for legal training there. Those offices often have a database of business-related courses and workshop calendar. They might also be able to put you in touch with someone who is offering exactly the training you need. At the entrepreneurship office, you will also be able to get information about instructors and legal training companies if they don’t offer anything in-house. These offices are great because their programs are tailored to the needs of businesses like yours.
  2. Your business lawyer. She might already have experience in business legal training and be willing to give a workshop or provide training for your business managers. Don’t assume that just because she is a lawyer she can do the job – make sure that she has enough training and instructing experience as well. If so, she is your best bet because she already knows your business from the inside.
  3. Your competition and partners. Ask around – you can’t be the only business owner smart enough to want legal training for the management. You might not find many others but some of your partners or competitors might have gone true legal training sessions already. Look at their awards, titles, certifications, etc. on LinkedIn and their website to find out where they have received their training.
  4. Business legal workshops in your area. Many legal companies nowadays, realizing that small businesses can hardly afford legal services, offer basic legal training for them. Look for a local instructor with plenty of teaching and legal experience and try to book a custom training session. Such workshops shouldn’t take you more than a day and cost you a few hundred bucks per person. (Wanna book a workshop with us?
